Tonight is the first Wednesday of the month which means tonight is STL Wednesday. I just wanted to encourage all of you to bring your pledges this evening. We have been doing great so far with STL. Our pledge is 20K in 2006. I know this is more than we can actually do ourselves. But that is okay because it is not about what we can do it is about what God can do through us if we are just willing. I know that we can make the goal if we just allow God to act through us supernaturally. See you tonight

Now on to more exciting subject. The Exploding Whale. Last Wednesday we talked about how when we choose to disobey God there are consequenences for disobedience. Jonah disobeyed GOd's call and he ended up in a belly of a whale. Jonah figured he was going to die but his consequence was not immediate death. God was merciful and allowed Jonah opportunity to ask for Gods help amidst his crisis. Jonah's punishment for his sin was not the end of his life it was the beginning of his opportunity to return to God's plan. So the next time you find yourself caught in sin don't look at it as the end of your relationship with God. See it as an opportunity to return to God. All it takes is a prayer of repentance and an action of obedience and you will be following God's plan in no time.

Two weeks of Fusion Cells is down and 5 more to go. This Sunday there is NO Fusion Cells. You are free to do whatever you desire. If you haven't yet gone to a cell group I wanted to encourage you to attend. See the links to the right for more information.

Last week at Fusion Cells you were discussing Matthew 22:34-40

When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. 35 One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: 36 "Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?"

Jesus gives us two keys to being a Christian. Love God & Love Others. To love God we must deny our sinful desires and seek Him and His desires. To Love others we must receive God's love into our life. Once we are filled with God's love we should be overflowing with what is in our hearts.

How are you going to love God this weekend? How are you going to love others this weekend? By love I don't mean passionate lust that the world considers love. I mean the agape love that comes from God? Remember that we read the Bible because we want to be more like Jesus. We must act upon what we read or there is no benefit for us or others.

The first link, iCamp Sermons, you can now download all the sermons from icamp. This is a great resource for your mom or dad. They now can hear what you experienced at summer camp.

Yo Yo Yo - WHASSS UP?

The Rev Blog is back on track. I apologize to all those who have been checking the blog for the past couple of weeks and NOTHING. (mainly you Brooke) Well my vacation is done. School is starting. It is time to start "kicking it up a notch, BAMM!" as Emeral Laoidfidshfdoashsisiy would say. So I did.

You will notice that an image gallery has been added to the right side bar. What is it? Well after each major event you will see some random images in a flip book that you can, of course, flip through. Below the Flip Book you can view the complete gallery of pictures from past events at The Rev. Once inside one of the galleries you can click on the pictures and download them to your computer. Print them, save them, enhance them, burn them, hang them in your locker, hang them on your fridge, wall paper your bathroom, bedroom, dining room, closet... you get the idea. RED REBELS DECLARE VICTORY!

Congrats to the RED REBELS!

They have won the Ultimate Survivor Reward: A free trip to valley fair. I guess the stradegy of just hanging in second place until the final competition and then BAMB, steal Summer Survivor from Dead Presidents and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Thanks to everyone who participated in Summer Survivor it was a blast. What a great way to enjoy a summer. We still have some summer events left before school. The STL Bike-A-thon is happening Monday, August 29th and Tuesday, August 30th. Make sure to pick up your registration forms at The Rev. Camp Pics coming soon.

This Sunday is our next event! We will be meeting at The Rev @ 2:30 pm and heading to beauty lake. There you will get wet very wet. So bring your swimsuit, towel, shoes or flip flops. A Plan

What's up?

It is official we are now in DEEP summer. Well I am not sure you can use deep as an adjective for summers in the Iron Range but I gave it a try. What I mean is we are in the middle of summer. Only two more weeks and Summer Camp starts! I wanted to remind you about what we talked about last Wednesday. Here is a little of what I read for my Devos this morning.

Heb 8:8-13

Heads up! The days are coming
when I'll set up a new plan
for dealing with Israel and Judah.
9 I'll throw out the old plan
I set up with their ancestors
when I led them by the hand out of Egypt.
They didn't keep their part of the bargain,
so I looked away and let it go.
10 This new plan I'm making with Israel
isn't going to be written on paper,
isn't going to be chiseled in stone;
This time I'm writing out the plan in them,
carving it on the lining of their hearts.
I'll be their God,
they'll be my people.
11 They won't go to school to learn about me,
or buy a book called God in Five Easy Lessons.
They'll all get to know me firsthand,
the little and the big, the small and the great.
12 They'll get to know me by being kindly forgiven,
with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean.

13 By coming up with a new plan, a new covenant between God and his people, God put the old plan on the shelf. And there it stays, gathering dust.

God has a PLAN. It was to send his Son to conquer the law of sin that is death. He plan gives me the ability to go straight to Jesus for friendship and forgiveness of sins. As Emeral Laguassi would say "BAM!" I guess God's PLAN definitely kicked it up a notch.

What is you PLAN for spiritual success. I have a plan for each day. What is your plan to bring you closer in your relationship with Jesus. If you don't have a plan you probably won't succeed.

The Hunt

Hey Summer Survivor Main Event is happening THIS Saturday @ 3pm - 6pm. Meet at First Assembly of God and we will then travel to an undisclosed location for "THE HUNT". Please wear outside clothing and not flip flops. You will be in the woods so a little bug spray won't hurt. See you this SATURDAY!

The team that was in the lead at the beginning of youth service (blue cross blue shield) was in the lead because of Sunday service attendance. There is a lot more ways to win than just competitions. Hey I just wanted to remind you all to get your homework done before school tomorrow. Oh! Wait you don't have any school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOYA! I trust you all will enjoy this first week of summer by sleeping in until at least 10am.

Remember this Wednesday is Summer Survivor Kick Off! Make sure to bring your friends. This is a great 1st Step to get your friends involved in The Rev. This weeks competition is called THE LOCK UP. It will test your brains, brawn and team work. Get ready for summer survivor and bring lots of quarters for Hot Dogs and Rootbeer.

The Ways to Step 5

I suppose you are bored of looking at the same post day after day. Sorry, The ol' youth pastor has been stinking busy as of late. Well if you want to call vacation busy.

Step 5 is being a core member of The Revolution. Which is really just a solid Christian who is consumed with encouraging people in all situations. How are you going to get to that place? Here is the equation we talked about last week at youth group. Experience + Knowledge + Character = Strong founded Christian who has positioned themselves to receive the gifts God wants to give to them. Those gifts are to be used to encourage the church and as a witness to unbelievers. Experience + friendship with the world (doing nothing) = a shallow immature Christian who is a victim of life situations. They have no ability to influence the world except to portray Christians as complaining, confused and weak. Tossed here and there by life's struggles.

What will you be? Have experience with God + apply the knowlegde and wisdom received from the Bible + make choices that develop a strong Godly character. That is the equation to true spiritual freedom and influence. Enjoy your weekend.

Last Wednesday was the first Wednesday of the Month = "STL WEDNESDAY!"
Which means everyone who gives anything (except tithe) to the offering must give it to Speed The Light. Well last week we gave $58 to STL. That is good but by no means is it close to our record Wednesday which was in March totaling $108.00. I wanted to encourage you guys to stick to your STL goal. If you miss one week don't just forget about it. Be consistent and give what you can. God blesses those of us who are faithful in our giving. So keep up the good work and we will reach our goal.

BTW I have put a couple links up for STL. One is our Goal for 2005 and the other is to the national STL web page check it out. You might be surprised what you learn about STL.

Not a Boring Weekend

Here is a conversation I have with students weekly.

"Hey what's up?" says PA.

"Nothing" says student.

"How was your weekend?" asks PA.

"boring." says student.

"whad ya do?" asks PA

"nothing, watched TV or something." states the sad depressed stuck in a small town I am bored out of my gourd student.

That is pretty much the conversation I have had at least once a week if not once a day. Well guess what? Prom Alternative is only a One Day away! No more BORING WEEKENDS! YEAH! BOOYA!

I am very pumped about this weekend. The group of adults who are putting on this evening have worked their BUTTS off. Seriously! I actually saw half of someone's butt laying on the floor where they were setting for Prom Alt. SICK!
OK enough Gluttiousmaximus talk.

WEEKEND 411 -
Friday,
Student led Bible Study will be held in the Back building in the REV room. Use the BACK ,BACK door to enter and leave. It starts at 6pm and goes until 7pm. Bring your Bible and be ready to study the word. NOT talk about whatever you want!

Saturday,
Remember Prom Alt starts at 6 pm in the main building @ First Assembly of God - Hibbing. Parents may come and hang out for the first hours during pictures etc. Also girls remember to bring a pair of sox. 7&8 graders who are helping serve you need to be at Church at 5:30pm. Were going to have a great time.

Sunday,
Fusion Cells will be cancelled this Sunday. Everyone will be sleeping because of Prom Alt. Pass the WORD please! We will re-schedule. Details to be announced.

New STL links have been added to the BLOG. The first link What is STL will take you to the National STL site. There you can find out all about STL and there are some good downloads and stuff. The second link will show you how much you have given to STL.

Speaking of STL does anyone have a creative idea how to raise money for STL. Right now we are 1/4 of the way done with the year and we have given over $500 to STL. At this rate we will give approximately $2,000. Which will beat our personal giving from 2004 by $800 but still leaves us $3,000 short of our goal this year. So if you have an idea share it with us.

BTW, there is also a link to Summer Camp. It takes you to MN District website where you can download camp forms and scholarship applications. Remember we are going to Jr. High II & Sr. High II.

Prom Alternative

Prom Alternative is approaching quickly. We are only a couple weeks away. This Sunday, April 17th will be the last date that you or your friends can register for Prom Alternative. Pastor Aaron must recieve your registration form and fee by this Sunday.

Fusion Cells - THIS SUNDAY

Fusion Cell groups are meeting this Sunday from 3pm - 5pm. Girls we will be meeting at Sue Williamson's house. Guys we will be meeting at Pastor Aaron's house. If you need directions please see the Fusions links below. Be sure to bring someone from The Rev. who has not been to Fusion Cells.

Remember that Cell Groups are step three to fulfilling your destiny. It is important for you to take the necessary steps to understand God's plan for you life. It is also important for you to encourage others to make those steps. So bring someone from The Rev. who hasn't taken this step. You could be the catalyst to someone understanding their destiny. Student Bible Study

A couple of Rev Students will be heading up a student led Bible study in the backbuilding at 6pm starting this Friday, April 15th. This will be a in depth Bible study. Where students will look into the scriptures and discuss what they mean.

Evil Easter Bunny

The Evil Easter Bunny visited my house on Easter night. It seems that he had a little extra Easter grass left over from his Easter baskets. I guess he thought my yard could use a little extra color. He must of thought my truck and drive way was dirty too because they were rather soapy on Monday morning.

I guess an Evil Easter Bunny is better than some dumb Pinapple Princess's. They were very distructive. At least the Evil Easter Bunny has some respect for the Youth Pastor.

Back to School

Yeah! Back to school. After five days off I am sure everyone is very excited to be back in school. Getting up early, homework and sitting through six hours of teachers expanding your minds. Ahhhhh how wonerful.

Rev Theater: Mosaic Worship

Revolution Student Ministries released its final installment of WR05 video shorts: Mosaic Worship. It was a great Winter Retreat. The great thing is that we don't have to go to Winter Retreat or camp to have a good time with God. It can happen every Wednesday Night and each day in your room or at work or school. That all depends on your desire to spend time with him.

Fusion Update

Matt Rengstorffffff - is our fusion fencing champion. Good job Matt. Though tried to run a few of his friends completely through and broke one of my epee's (swords).

There were 14 boys and 18 girls who decided to make REV STEP THREE part of their life this weekend. That gives us 32 people at Fusion Cells last weekend that kills our past total of 22. Good job everyone. There will not be any Fusion Cells this coming weekend, but will resume the first weekend in April. Have a great Easter and enjoy the time off from school. HAPPY EASTER! Cell groups were great today! We had total of 22 total students in attendance. I think it's great. Thanks to everyone who attended this weeks Fusion Cells. If you couldn't make it this week make sure to be at next weeks cells.

YO BOYS - Remember that we are meeting in the Back building next week. We will be participating in some combat so you need to bring a long sleeve shirt and some sort of sweat pants and your "protector" if you have one.

YO GIRLS - Next week you are meeting at Sue Williamson's House if you need directions check out the Fusion Links at the bottom of the page. I heard that you girls had a great time this weekend.

Hello All,

I wanted to put a picture up of Amarah Langner. Josh and Shaleah newest addition to their family. I thought you would all a like to see a good picture of the baby. I wish I would have gotten one with the parents too.

2 Days to WR05 I hope you are starting to get excited! Make sure that you are at the Church no later than 3:30pm. Remember One bag, One sleeping bag, One pillow and a carry on is all you are allowed to pack. Don't for get your sack lunch for Friday night.

Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way. 13 I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!
14 Don't become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That's not partnership; that's war. Is light best friends with dark? 15 Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands? 16 Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God's holy Temple? But that is exactly what we are, each of us a temple in whom God lives. God himself put it this way:

Rev-ites,

I want to encourage you to live openly and expansively in God's Spirit. Don't live a small life with no influence, just eeking your way through your relationship with God. The key is found in v. 14 - 18. The world desire to fences us in and keep us from experiencing God's freedom. Getting the sin out of our lives and keeping it out is the key to a life of freedom. Have you partnered with the world or sin? Is it keeping you from living a life of influence for Jesus?

Monday Devotions

Good Morning all,

Each monday morning I will be sharing a Devotion from my personal devotions. Here we GO!

Genesis 31:12,13 I am the God of Bethel
"he said, 'watch closely. Notice that all the goats in the flock that are mating are steaked, speckled, and mottled. I know what Laban's been doing to you. I'm the God of Bethel where you consecrated a pillar and made a vow to me. Now be on your way, get out of this place, go home to your birthplace.'"

Laban was Jacobs father in law and also his boss. he wasn't paying him proper wages for his work. So God was rewarding him supernaturally (how did he do it? read Gen 31). So Laban began to hate Jacob. So God told Jacob to get out of there.

The part that struck me was that God said he was "The God of Bethel". That was a place where Jacob made a convenant/promise with God. God was really speaking to my heart that he is a God of promises and committment. If we desire to please him and improve our relationship with him. We need to be people of committment.

Start off right this week, make a decision in your heart to be a person of commitment in everything you do. Your Christian walk, work, sports, school work, chores and anything else you do.

Long Hard Week

Hey all you Revolutionites,

The past week was a long hard week for many of you. I want you to know that I have been praying for you and your school. I believe that you have an opportunity this semester to share "true love" with your friends .

I wanted to share a couple thoughts with you about Mickey Kellys funeral on Friday. I thought it was great to see how many student came to pay their respects to one of their peers. I felt as though my heart was peirced as I looked into the eyes of so many students who we hurting so bad. I feel the sorrowful weight that your school and friends are carrying. When life hands us such difficult times it is hard to know what to say to those of you who knew and cared for Mickey. I guess I will repeat one of his writings.

I am proud of the maturity with which you have handled this terrible situation. They say the difficult times reveal character. If that is true, I am proud of the character that has been revealed in each of you.

Best New Years Eve?

Revolution-ITES what New Years Eve party would you vote #1 in the past four years?

2001 DAY ONE: We played team games and had a crazy slime wheel game?
(cops came to un-handcuff a vistitor from a girl....lol)

2002 ballistic Bash 2: Basic nitendo & pool tournaments, Blow up boxing and sumo wrestling.
(2 ppl to the hospital)

2003 Can't Remember: We played the improve commercial game and other stuff?
(sub youth group had their own party...Nasty teens)

2004 Improv Party: We played Dodgeball and watched Spiderman II on the big screen. It was a improv night because original plans were cancelled because of snow and ice.
(many wicked games of Dogdeball, and a couple of black eyes)
